New Connecticut Restraining Order Law Goes Into Effect 10/1 Sep 29 2021 Each year, advocates, survivors, and supporters recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It serves as an important opportunity to have a coordinated community conversation about domestic violence and raise awareness about the availability of confidential, safe and free services to those in need. Here in Connecticut, a new law will also go into effect, providing victims and survivors with increased options to be safer.
